At the foot of the Rock of Caesarea Philippi, where the pagan god Pan is housed in one of its caves and is one of the richest sources of the River Jordan, one can see different niches dedicated to the worship of pagan gods and Roman emperors honored by Herod the Great and then by his son Philip. Before this extraordinary spectacle of natural and worldly power, Jesus put before the disciples the question of the recognition of his identity as the crucified and risen Messiah, Savior of His people and of all humankind.

The Vatican Radio wishes to thank all those who have cooperated and in particular, Giuliano Savina for the photographs.
