Ghana's Archbishop Dominic Kodwo Andoh has died, burial is June 6

The Church in Ghana is mourning the death of Archbishop Dominic Kodwo Andoh, Emeritus Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra, who died in Accra on Friday, May 17, 2013. He met his death just two weeks after he celebrated his 84th birthday anniversary on May 4. Archbishop Andoh was born on May 4, 1929 at Shama in the Western Region of Ghana. He was ordained a priest in December, 1956 and Pope Paul 6th later named him bishop in October 1971. Having served the church as archbishop of Accra for 34 years, Archbishop Andoh retired in March, 2005. He was succeeded by Archbishop Charles Palmer-Buckle.
The Ghanaian Church and the Symposium of Africa and Madagascar, SECAM, have issued a statement concerning the funeral arrangements. The late archbishop will be put to rest on Thursday June 6th. There will be prayers, Holy Mass and vigil on 5th June. Another session of prayer and mass will precede his burial on June 6th.
