The Missionaries of Charity were founded by Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta, and have worked in Rome for 25 years for the many people who are in need of assistance. The pope’s visit to the Charity Sisters’ facility on Tuesday was to mark the 25th anniversary of the soup kitchen and women’s shelter. “My presence here this afternoon represents, first of all, a heartfelt 'thank you' to the Missionaries of Charity founded by Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, the Hoy Father said by Vatican radio's Emmer McCarthy.
