Franciscan Family preparing for WYD 2013

Brazil, 25 May 2013. With great happiness we await World Youth Day, which will take place July 23-28 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This celebration is a gracious gift of God to young people throughout the world, said a press release of 24 May.
To this end the Franciscan Family in Brazil is working together to prepare a true fraternal gathering for all those who are part of the family of St. Francis and St. Clare, or who are attracted by the lives of these two saints of Assisi, whose charism continues to draw millions of followers and supporters around the world, it further added.

Franciscans are organizing an International Meeting of Franciscan Youth from July 17 to 20 in the city of São João del Rei, a Vocation Stand from July 23 to 28 in Quinta da Boa Vista, Rio de Janeiro, a Franciscan Area which will offer musical and artistic performances, workshops, space for prayer and reflection on July 23, 25, and 26. There will also be facility to meeting with the Franciscan Ministers General.

Embracing the itinerancy of Francis and his followers we want to be pilgrims of Lord, enthusiastically journeying toward the land of the Holy Cross in our beloved Latin America, added the Press note.
