Catholic faithful in Wau diocese, in Southern Sudan, demand for a programme of action for the Year of Faith

The Catholic Diocese of Wau does not have spiritual programmes for the Year of Faith that started last October and ends in November. This was the complaint voiced by participants during a three-day workshop organized by the Justice and Peace Commission for catechists and laity on Catholic Social Teaching, principals of solidarity and common good. Voice of Hope Radio reported that participants, who said that they knew nothing about the year of faith, urged Church leaders to organize some form of trainings on spiritual growth and Bible studies. Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI declared the Year of Faith in 2011 to grant Christians around the world a chance to rediscover their faith. The Year of Faith began in October last year and concludes with the feast of Christ the King, on November 24.
