New Bishop in Qacha's Nek diocese in Lesotho

There is a new bishop for the diocese of Qacha's Nek in Lesotho. Pope Francis named Fr. Joseph Mopeli Sephamola to shephered the 200.000 Catholic faithful found in the confines of the new diocese, that boasts of 13 parishes that are served by 22 priests, 30 religious brothers, 74 religious nuns and has five major seminarians.

Bishop elect Sephamola was born in 1960 and he is a member of the Oblates of Mary Imaculate, OMI. He was ordained in 1991 and has held key positions in his Congregation. Until his appointment as bishop, he was the provincial of the Oblate province of Lesotho. Qacha’s Nek diocese fell vacant following the death of the ordinary, Mons. Evaristus Thatho Bitsoane.
