Pope Francis appeals to Eastern donor Church agencies to pay more attention to the Christians in the Middle East who are suffering for their faith in Christ
The last of the Pope’s appointments on Thursday was a meeting with participants at the annual meeting of the Reunion of Aid Agencies for the Oriental Churches, ROACO. The member agencies provide assistance for projects of the Eastern Churches including the construction of schools, seminaries, convents, health facilities, and scholarships to seminarians. The assembly began on Tuesday and will end on Friday. Its focus is on the critical conditions experienced by Christians in Egypt and Iraq. In his address to the participants Pope Francis asked them to pay more attention to the plight of the Christians who are suffering in the Middle East. Christopher Wells reports.
