Pope Francis praises the late Pope Paul VI as one of the great pastors of the Church
On Saturday Pope Francis received in audience pilgrims from the Italian diocese of Brescia who visited the Vatican on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the election to Pope Paul VI who was from the area. Pope Paul VI was elected Roman Pontiff on June 21st 1963 and died in 1978. The pilgrims celebrated a commemoration Holy Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica before meeting the Pope. In his address, Pope Francis spoke of Pope Paul VI as a pastor who loved Christ and mankind. Charles Collins reports.
