250 children reach the Vatican by train to meet Pope Francis
The holy Father on Sunday received hundreds of children who had arrived at the Vatican City train station after a long train journey from Milan to the Vatican. The age of the 250 children ranged between 6 and 10 and they were taking part in an initiative called the “Children's Train: A Journey through Beauty”. They are part of the 'Courtyard of the Children' project sponsored by the Pontifical Council for Culture. The objective of the initiative is to promote the direct experience of artistic creation among disadvantaged youth. We spoke to Richard Rouse, an official at the Council for Culture.
