The African Union announced on Friday that it had suspended Egypt because the military had used unconstitutional means to depose President Mohamed Morsi. The secretary of the African Union Peace and Security Council, Admore Kambudzi, said Egypt would be barred from participating in all of the African Union activities. The military deposed Morsi on Wednesday nights after over 20 million Egyptian citizens went to the streets to demand his resignation. They accused him of Islamizing country and of doing nothing to improve the economy. The African Union has three other member states on suspension. They are Madagascar, the Central African Republic and Guinea-Bissau. Like in Egypt, the governments there were deposed by the military which also suspended the constitutions.
