Apostolic Nuncio to Tanzania calls upon Catholic Schools to form Students into responsible Citizens

The Apostolic Nuncio to Tanzania, Archbishop Francisco Padilla, has called on Catholic schools to form students into responsible and law abiding citizens. He was speaking last week at a fundraising function of St Maximilian Kolbe Secondary School in Dar es Salaam. The school is run by religious nuns. He reminded those present of the golden rule to love one’s neighbor and appealed to the administration not to deny education to students who come from poor families. He encouraged the administrators to involve students, teachers, parents and guardians in the running of the institution, noting that it cannot function well without their input. The Headmistress of the school, Sr. Bertha Chileshe said money was needed to construct and furnish a dinning hall and the sports grounds. The School has 548 students and 27 teachers.
