Pope Francis appoints new Apostolic Nunzio in Ghana
The Church in Ghana is celebrating the appointment of a new Holy See ambassador to the west African nation. In ecclesial terms a Holy See Amabassador is also referred to as Apostolic Nunzio. News from the Vatican on Saturday said the Holy father has named Mons. Jean-Marie Speich, to be his representative in Ghana. Until his tinme of appointment, Mons. Speich served as Councilor in the Nunciature of the general affairs section of the Secretariat of state. According to the Church tradition, the appointment of Mons. Speich automatically elevates him to the dignity of Archbishop.
