Cardinal Sandri condemns violence against Christians and calls for reconciliation, justice and peace in Egypt

The prefect of the Congregation for Eastern Churches, Cardinal Leonardo Sandri says the whole Church sincerely desires to see reconciliation, justice and lasting peace in Egypt. In an interview with Vatican Radio, the Cardinal said attacks against Christians are unacceptable.
Cardinal Sandri assured Christians in Egypt of the prayers of Christ’s faithful and expressed hope that a possible solution to the terrible situation in Egypt can be found through dialogue and reconciliation.
He expressed spiritual solidarity with the Christian faithful and the leaders of the Christian communities in Egypt, in particular, the head of Egypt’s Copts, Pope Tawadros II, the Catholic Patriarch of Egypt, His Beatitude Sidrak and his predecessor Cardinal Antionios Naguib.
