Lay catholic Missionary killed in Nigeria



Reports from Nigeria say an Italian Catholic lay missionary, Afra Martinelli, who was attacked at her residence on September 26th by thieves and cut with machetes, died on Friday October 11th in a hospital where she was receiving treatment. She was 78 years old and had worked in a place called Oguashi-Ukwu in the Niger Delta for 30 years. She belonged to an Italian catholic Charity known as Brescia Hearts Home fraternity. She was the head of an informatics school and college for girls and boys known as Regina Mundi Center in Ogwashi-Ukwu. The institution admits day and boarding students.
