Pope Francis Presides at the Episcopal Ordination of the New Nuncio to Ghana and the President of the Vatican Diplomatic Academy



Pope Francis on Thursday afternoon presided at the episcopal ordination mass of the new Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana, Archbishop Jean-Marie Speich and of Archbishop Giampiero Gloder, Apostolic Nuncio and President of the Vatican diplomatic academy known as the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy.

Archbishop Jean-Marie Speich is of the clergy of the Archdiocese of Strasburg in France. He was born on the 15th June 1955 and ordained a priest on the 9th of October 1982. He was raised to the rank of titular Archbishop of Sulci and named Apostolic Nuncio in Ghana by Pope Francis on the 17th of August 2013.
The new head of the Holy See’s Diplomatic academy Archbishop Gloder is of the Diocese of Padova, Italy. He was born on the 15th of May 1958 and ordained a priest on the 4th of June 1983. He was elevated to the rank of titular Archbishop of Telde and named Apostolic Nuncio and President of the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy by Pope Francis on the 21st of September 2013.
