Changes in frequencies and broadcast time for the Africa Service
We wish to inform our listeners that with sunrise and sunset happening one hour earlier on Sunday 27 October in Rome, there will be some slight changes in the broadcast frequencies of the English Africa Service of Vatican Radio. The broadcast times in GMT will however remain the same. For listeners in East and Southern Africa , the programme can be heard on shortwave at 17:30 GMT on 11625 khz (25 mb); and 13765 Khz (22 mb). For listeners in West Africa , the same programme can be heard at 20:00 hours GMT on 7365 Khz (41 mb), on 9755 khz (31 mb) and on 11625 khz (25mb). The programme will be repeated in Southern Africa at 20:00 hours GMT on 9755 khz (31mb) and on 11625 khz (25mb). The programme will be repeated in the morning. In East Africa , it can be heard at 03:00 hours GMT on 9660 khz (31 mb) and on 11625 khz (25 mb on shortwave). In East and Southern Africa it can be heard at 05:00 and 06:30 GMT on 9660 khz (31mb) and on 11625 khz (25 mb). In West Africa it can be heard at 05: 00 and 06:30 GMT on 7360 khz (41 mb) and 13765 (22mb). Listeners in Rome can hear the programme on the FM 103.8 frequency at 18:30 instead of 19:30 and at 21:00 hours; and in the morning, the programme can be heard an hour earlier at 6:00 am and 7:30 local time in Rome. The new frequencies and times will take effect this Sunday 27th of October.
