The auxiliary bishop of Luanda retires

Pope Francis has accepted the resignation of the auxiliary bishop of Luanda in Angola, Bishop Anastácio Kahango . The member of the Capuchin Franciscans is over 76 and resigned for having reached the age limit set by the Code of Canon Law for retirement for diocesan and auxiliary bishops under Canons 401 and 411 in this case. The archdiocese of Luanda is headed by Archbishop Damião António Franklin. He is assisted by two auxiliary bishops. The other auxiliary is 47-year old bishop Zeferino Zeca Martins of the Divine Word Missionaries (S.V.D.).
