Pope Francis calls upon Catholics not to fear to go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation

Pope Francis has called upon Catholics not to fear to go for the sacrament of reconciliation because it reunites us with God. The pope made the call on Friday at Holy mass at the chapel of St. Martha here in the Vatican. He explained that to go to Confession is to encounter the love of Jesus with sincerity of heart. He lamented that many adult Catholics avoid confession because they don’t want to reveal their inner-self to a priest. Quoting St. Paul, the Apostle he said he did the opposite. He admitted his weakness and acknowledged God’s merciful love to those who repent of their sins. Reports from parish priests from different parts of the world show that the number of Catholics who go to a priest for confession has generally declined.
