The Bishops of Southern Africa to discuss the family at their upcoming Plenary Assembly

Some 80 bishops from the Inter-Regional Meeting of the Bishops of Southern Africa, known as IMBISA will meet for their 10th Plenary Assembly next week in Gaborone, Botswana. During the November 11-15 meeting, the bishops from Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, São Tome & Principe, South Africa, Swaziland and Zimbabwe will look at the many challenges facing the family and will also discuss policies on the family and other socio-political problems in the Southern African region. The last plenary assembly of IMBISA was held in October (11-18), 2010 in Pretoria, South Africa on the theme: Fostering Good Work Ethics for the Promotion of Self-Reliance, Good Governance and Sustainable Development in Southern Africa.
IMBISA is an organ of Liaison and Pastoral Cooperation between Episcopal Conferences of Angola and São Tome & Principe (CEAST), Lesotho (LCBC), Mozambique (CEM), Namibia (NCBC), South Africa which is made up of Botswana, South Africa and Swaziland (SACBC) and Zimbabwe (ZCBC).
