Pope Francis expresses condolences following the death of Cardinal Domenico Bartolucci

Pope Francis has expressed condolences to the relatives of Cardinal Domenico Bartolucci who died in Rome on Monday, November 11th. He was 96 years old. He was a talented musician and served as director of the Sistine Chapel Choir for many years. He was created a cardinal by Pope Benedict XVI in the consistory of 20 November 2010. Pope Francis said he will celebrate a funeral mass for the cardinal this coming Wednesday, November 13th at St. Peter’s Basilica at 15:30 Italian local time. With the death of Cardinal Bartolucci the College of Cardinals now has 200 cardinals, of which 109 are electors.
