New Secretary of State, Pietro Parolin, finally arrives at the Vatican

Archbishop Pietro Parolin, the new Vatican Secretary of State, arrived in the Vatican on Saturday. He takes up his formal duties on Monday and will operate from the usual premises of the Apostolic Palace. Archbishop Parolin was installed as Secretary of State in absentia on 15 October because he was recovering from an unexpected surgical procedure he had undergone earlier in the month. Making the announcement on Saturday morning, director of the Holy See Press Office, Jesuit Fr. Federico Lombardi said the archbishop is grateful to the Holy father fro the nomination and thanks all those close to him.
