Pontifical Council for Migrants and Itinerant People sets up special fund for Fishermen and Seafarers affected by the Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines

The Pontifical Council for Migrants and Itinerant People has set up a special fund to assist fishermen and seafarers affected by typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. The special fund, which will be directed by the Apostleship of the Sea. It has an initial contribution of 10,000 US dollars. The typhoon Haiyan killed more than four thousand people and destroyed the infrastructure, economic activities and homes, leaving about 9.5 million people homeless.
