Pope names a new archbishop for Antsiranana in Madagascar



Pope Francis on Wednesday accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Antsiranana in Madagascar presented by Archbishop Michel Malo. After accepting the resignation of Archbishop Malo who has reached the age limit of 75 for holding that office, as set by the Code of Canon Law, Pope Francis named Bishop Benjamin Marc Balthason Ramaroson to succeed him. Bishop Ramaroson has been serving as Bishop of the Diocese of Farafangana also in Madagascar, an Indian Ocean island in the southern part of Africa.
