The faithful of the Diocese of Rome to attend Pope Francis’s morning masses

The faithful in the 336 parishes of the Diocese of Rome will soon be given the chance to attend the daily masses of Pope Francis at the Casa Santa Martha in the Vatican. The news was confirmed by the Director of the Holy See Press Office, Jesuit Fr. Federico Lombardi. Responding to a report by the Italian daily newspaper Correriere della Sera over Christmas, Fr. Lombardi, said beginning in January the Cardinal Vicar of Rome will be informing parish priests how to apply to attend the Pope’s daily Mass with a group from their parish - probably about 25 people. In 2013, groups of Vatican employees usually attended the morning Papal Mass. Father Lombardi said the initiative will allow the people of Rome to interact with their bishop, since the Pope is not able to visit every parish in the diocese.
