The government of Cameroon has captured weapons and arrested Muslim Seleka rebels from the Central African Republic who had been hiding in the country. The rebels were fleeing French and African Union peacekeepers. On arrival they captured a gold mine. According to government officials, since march Seleka troops have been sneaking into Cameroon at night armed with guns and loot villages and then cross back. These attacks forced the Cameroonian government to close the border with the Central African Republic in August, 2013.
