Consistories From John XXIII to Pope Francis



There have so far bee twenty two consistories between the papacy of John XXIII and that of Pope Francis. Five consistories were held during the reign of Benedict the 16th. John Paul II held nine consistories, while six took place during the time of Pope Paul VI. The Pope who is credited with calling for the famous Second Vatican Council, John XXIII, who is going to be canonized this year, managed in his short papacy to call for two consistories, one in 1958 and the other in 1962.
