Pope Francis names the new Bishop of Natitingou in Benin

Pope Francis has nominated Fr. Antoine Sabi Bio to be the new bishop of the diocese of Natitingou in Benin. Before this appointment he was the apostolic administrator of the same diocese. The bishop elect was born in 1963 and ordained a priest in December 1991. He has held different positions of responsibility since then, including parish priest, rector of St. Peter’s Minor Seminary at Natitingou, and Vicar General of the diocese of Natitingou. The diocese of Natitingou has been vacant since June 2011 when its bishop, Pascal N’koure, was transferred to the archdiocese of Parakou.
