Pope Paul VI to be beatified on 19th October 2014

Pope Francis has authorized the Congregation for the Causes of Saints to promulgate the miracles attributed to the intercession of the Servant of God: Pope Paul VI who led the church from 1963 to 1978 and Luigi Caburlotto, an Italian diocesan priest and founder of the Daughters of St. Joseph. The Pope also authorized the promulgation of the heroic virtues of the following Servants of God: Giacomo Abbondo, Italian diocesan priest, Giacinto Alegre Pujals, a Spanish priest of the Society of Jesus and Carla Barbara Colchen Carré de Malberg, a French national, mother of a family and founder of the Society of the Daughters of St. Francis de Sales. The Pope has asked the Congregation for the Causes of Saints to announce that the beatification of the Servant of God Pope Paul VI will take place on 19th October this year in the Vatican at the conclusion of the Synod of Bishops on the Family.
