Private audiences to 4 syro-Malankara Bishops on Ad Limina

(March 26, 2011) On Saturday, the Pope met in private audiences 4 of the 13 Syro Malankara Bishops present in Rome for their 5-yearly Ad Limina visits: namely Bishops Abraham Julios Kackanatt, of Muvattupuzha , Geevarghese Divannasios Ottathengil, of Puthur , Joseph Thomas Konnath, of Battery and Jacob Barnabas Aerath, of Bapara, who is also Apostolic Visitor to Syro Malankara faithful living outside their own territories. The Pope earlier on Friday met the 13 bishops in a body and delivered his common message. The remaining 9 bishops will be received in private audiences in the course of the coming week.
